COVID-19 Updates

To limit the spread of COVID-19, many countries have put in place travel or border restrictions and other measures such as movement restrictions and quarantines. Some countries are downplaying the effect of COVID-19, others are denying it’s existence.  Airlines and airports are closed and Americans living abroad are being advised to return home.

People’s livelihood is being affected.  Some positions are being reduced from full-time to part-time.  Other are losing or have lost their jobs.  Salaries are being cut, benefits are being reduced, and many are using their savings and emergency funds and trying to be fiscally prudent.

LENDAHAND is sensitive to our current situation, and, for these reasons, we have regrettably decided to postpone our 2020 Missions to Honduras (May 12-21), El Salvador (Aug 1-8), Panama (Aug 27-Sep1), Peru (Oct 5-15), and Nicaragua (Nov 23-Dec 3) until next year, 2021.  Even though we cannot go physically, we continue to be God’s hands and feet by supporting our contacts in their own countries, who are currently working tirelessly to distribute bags filled with dry and fresh food to needy families and communities.

We encourage you – PLAN, don’t panic, rest assured in THE TRUTH – not the FACTS!  The FACTS ARE CHANGING DAILY, but the TRUTH NEVER CHANGES!  John 14:6 (NIV) says, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”  We leave you with a thought from a dear friend of ours of over 30 years.  She said “If a microscopic virus can do this much damage, imagine what a mustard seed of faith can do!”  God will be GLORIFIED in this desperate time and HIS NAME WITH BE PROCLAIMED and KNOWN.  Thank you for your prayers and support!
