Sponsorship

Lendahand partners with Sule International Academy in Kampala, Uganda. This organization began as a lifeline for teenage mothers who wanted to continue their education. With teen pregnancy rates exceeding 25% in Uganda, the need for a program that offered childcare during class time was – and remains – immense. As the number of young mothers grew, it became clear that their children needed dedicated lessons of their own, and the academy expanded to meet that need.

Today, under the leadership of Sule Israel George and his wife Joan, the school’s Principal, the academy provides vocational training for young mothers and daily education for roughly 150 school‑age children. In a country where government schools require fees many families cannot afford, Sule International Academy offers a path forward: active, creative learning; a safe, home‑like environment for orphans and vulnerable children; and a foundation strong enough to break cycles of poverty, disease, and unemployment.

The academy relies entirely on donations to feed its most vulnerable students, pay teachers, cover rent for the school compound, and provide essential supplies. Your sponsorship makes education possible for a child who would otherwise be unable to attend school—or supports a teacher whose work shapes the future of the community.
